How to Review and Manage Health Permissions on Apple Watch

Secure your private health data on Apple Watch. Follow these steps to audit and revoke permissions for apps accessing your heart rate, fitness, and activity.

  1. Open the Health app on your iPhone. Launch the Health app from your iPhone home screen. Health data management is centralized on the iPhone rather than the watch interface to ensure a comprehensive overview.
  2. Locate your profile settings. Tap your profile icon located in the top-right corner of the Summary tab. This opens your personal health dashboard and privacy configuration menu.
  3. Access the Apps menu. Within the Privacy section, tap on Apps. This list displays every application that has requested or been granted permission to access your Apple Health data.
  4. Review individual app permissions. Select a specific app from the list to view the granular data categories it accesses. You will see toggles for categories such as Heart Rate, Active Energy, and Steps.
  5. Modify data access permissions. Toggle the switches for specific data types to enable or disable access. Your changes take effect immediately and are synced across your paired Apple Watch devices.
