How to Pair a Wearable to a New Phone

Learn how to correctly transfer your wearable device to a new smartphone while preserving your data and maintaining a stable connection.

  1. Unpair the wearable from the old device. Open the companion app on your old phone and navigate to the Device settings menu. Select Unpair or Remove Device to initiate a factory reset sequence that clears local cache while syncing your final data to the cloud.
  2. Install the companion application. Download the official manufacturer application from the App Store or Google Play Store on your new smartphone. Launch the app and sign in using the same credentials used on your previous device to retrieve your history.
  3. Initiate discovery mode on the wearable. Ensure the wearable is charged to at least 50 percent and place it in pairing mode. On most devices, this is triggered automatically upon startup after a factory reset; otherwise, hold the primary side button for five seconds until the logo flashes.
  4. Complete the pairing process. Tap the Add Device or Plus (+) icon within the companion app on your new phone. Select your specific model from the list of detected hardware and confirm the numeric pairing code shown on both the wearable screen and the mobile app.
  5. Apply pending firmware updates. Navigate to the Device Updates section in the app to check for the latest firmware. If an update is available, keep the devices connected and stationary until the progress bar reaches 100 percent to prevent data corruption.
