How to Maximize Apple Watch Battery Life

Optimize your Apple Watch settings to extend daily battery performance. Follow these precise adjustments to manage power consumption effectively.

  1. Disable Always On Display. Open Settings on your Apple Watch. Navigate to Display & Brightness, select Always On, and toggle the switch to Off. This prevents the screen from consuming power while your wrist is down.
  2. Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Go to the My Watch tab, select General, and tap Background App Refresh. Disable the master switch or toggle off specific apps that do not require real-time updates.
  3. On your Apple Watch, open Settings and navigate to Accessibility. Tap Reduce Motion and toggle it to On. Return to Accessibility and tap Increase Contrast, then toggle Reduce Transparency to On.
  4. Open Settings on your Apple Watch. Scroll to Workout and toggle Power Saving Mode to On. This disables the heart rate sensor during Walking and Running workouts, which significantly reduces battery drain.
  5. Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Navigate to Notifications and select individual apps. Set notifications to Off for any application that does not require immediate alerts, preventing the display from waking repeatedly.
  6. Open Settings on your Apple Watch. Navigate to General and tap Software Update. Install available updates to benefit from the latest power efficiency optimizations released by Apple.
