How to Download Music to Your Apple Watch

Learn how to sync your favorite playlists and albums to your Apple Watch for offline listening without needing your iPhone nearby.

  1. Place your watch on its charger. Ensure your Apple Watch is connected to its magnetic charger. The sync process requires the watch to be charging and within range of your paired iPhone to initiate the transfer.
  2. Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Launch the Watch app from your iPhone home screen. Navigate to the My Watch tab at the bottom of the interface to access your specific device settings.
  3. Access the Music settings menu. Scroll down the My Watch menu until you locate Music. Tap on Music to open the configuration screen for media storage on your watch.
  4. Add music to your watch. Tap the Add Music button. Browse your library to select the playlists, artists, or albums you want to sync. Tap the plus icon or the Add button next to your desired content.
  5. Monitor the sync progress. Keep the Watch app open to monitor the transfer progress bar. Syncing will occur over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi; keep your iPhone and Watch in close proximity until the status changes to Synced.
