How to Customize Apple Watch Haptics

Adjust your Apple Watch vibration settings to modify haptic alerts for notifications, calls, and system interactions using your watch or iPhone.

  1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch. Press the Digital Crown to view your app grid or list. Locate and tap the Settings app, represented by the grey gear icon.
  2. Access Sounds & Haptics settings. Scroll down the Settings menu and tap Sounds & Haptics. This section contains all controls for volume and tactile feedback settings.
  3. Set Haptic intensity. Scroll down to the Haptics section. Choose between Default, which provides a standard vibration, or Prominent, which adds an extra haptic tap to emphasize notifications.
  4. Modify vibration patterns for specific alerts. Tap Ringtone or Notification Haptics within the Sounds & Haptics menu. Select a pattern from the list to preview the vibration intensity and rhythm.
  5. Adjust settings via the Watch app on iPhone. Open the Watch app on your paired iPhone and navigate to the My Watch tab. Select Sounds & Haptics to mirror these changes using a larger interface.
