How to change your Apple Watch app layout

Learn how to toggle between Grid and List view on your Apple Watch to optimize your app navigation and accessibility.

  1. Open the Home Screen. Press the Digital Crown once to navigate to your app Home Screen. If you are already within an application, the Digital Crown acts as your primary navigation tool to return to the root view.
  2. Enter Layout Selection mode. Firmly press and hold on any empty space within the Home Screen. Do not press an app icon, as this will trigger the 'Edit Apps' mode instead.
  3. Select your preferred layout. Tap either Grid View or List View from the menu options that appear on the screen. The change will apply immediately to your interface.
  4. Confirm the interface change. Observe the Home Screen transition. List View organizes icons alphabetically in a vertical scrolling format, while Grid View displays them in a honeycomb pattern.
  5. Change via Settings. Navigate to Settings on your Apple Watch. Scroll down to select App View, then tap either Grid View or List View to finalize your preference.
