How to Configure Sleep Tracking on Apple Watch
Master sleep tracking on Apple Watch. Follow this step-by-step guide to enable sleep schedules, optimize battery life, and analyze your rest data.
- Open the Sleep app on iPhone. Open the Health app on your iPhone and tap the Browse tab at the bottom right. Select Sleep from the health categories list, then tap Set Up under the Set Up Sleep header.
- Define your sleep goal. Set the number of hours you intend to sleep each night. Tap Next to advance to the schedule configuration screen.
- Set your sleep schedule. Select the days you want your schedule to apply and adjust the Bedtime and Wake Up times. Drag the circular handles on the clock face to match your desired rest periods.
- Enable watch tracking settings. Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Navigate to the My Watch tab, select Sleep, and ensure Track Sleep with Apple Watch is toggled to the On position.
- Confirm focus mode automation. Inside the Sleep menu in the Health app, ensure Use Schedule for Sleep Focus is enabled. This minimizes distractions during your set bedtime.
- View your sleep data. Upon waking, open the Sleep app on your Apple Watch or the Health app on your iPhone to view stages of sleep and duration. Data is automatically synced to the Health app.
