How to set up a new Samsung Galaxy Watch
Follow this guide to pair your new Galaxy Watch to your Android device, configure your Samsung account, and finalize the initial software setup.
- Power on the device. Press and hold the Power button on the side of the watch case until the Samsung logo appears on the display. If the watch fails to turn on, place it on the provided wireless charging puck to ensure the battery has sufficient charge.
- Install the Galaxy Wearable app. Open the Google Play Store on your smartphone and search for Galaxy Wearable. Tap Install to download the application. Once the installation is complete, open the app and tap Start to begin the discovery process.
- Authorize the connection. When your watch appears on the screen in the Galaxy Wearable app, select it from the list. A pairing code will appear on both the watch face and your phone screen. Confirm that the codes match, then tap Pair on your phone.
- Sign in to your Samsung Account. Follow the on-screen prompts to sign in to your Samsung Account. This step is necessary to sync your health data, download watch faces, and enable Find My Watch functionality. If prompted, agree to the Terms and Conditions.
- Complete software setup. The app will automatically download and install the required plugins and watch software. Allow the watch to restart if prompted. During this time, keep the phone and watch within close proximity to ensure a stable data transfer.
