How to Review and Manage Health Data Permissions on Your Smartwatch

Learn how to control which health apps and services access your smartwatch data to ensure your private medical information remains secure.

  1. Open the Privacy settings. On your paired iPhone, open the Watch app. Navigate to the My Watch tab, then scroll down and tap Privacy.
  2. Locate the Health permissions. Select Health from the list of available options. This screen displays every application that has requested permission to read or write data to your Health profile.
  3. Review individual app access. Tap on a specific application name to view a detailed breakdown of the data types it can access. This includes metrics such as Heart Rate, Active Energy, Steps, and Sleep Analysis.
  4. Toggle specific data categories. Use the individual toggle switches to enable or disable access for specific data points. Alternatively, tap Turn Off All to completely revoke the app's access to your health history.
  5. Confirm global health settings. Navigate back to the main Health app on your iPhone. Tap your profile icon, select Apps, and ensure the list matches your recent changes in the Watch settings to verify synchronization.
