How to Install Apps on Apple Watch

Learn how to install and manage apps directly on your Apple Watch or via your iPhone using the App Store.

  1. Open the App Store on Apple Watch. Press the Digital Crown to view your app grid or list. Locate and tap the App Store icon, which features a blue 'A' logo.
  2. Find the desired application. Tap the Search icon to use Scribble, Dictation, or the QWERTY keyboard if available. Alternatively, scroll through the Featured or Top Charts sections to browse curated selections.
  3. Download and authenticate. Tap the Get button next to the application name. If prompted, double-click the side button to confirm the installation using your Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.
  4. Locate the app on your home screen. Once the download completes, the Get button changes to Open. Return to your home screen by pressing the Digital Crown once to find your newly installed app icon.
  5. Manage installation via iPhone. Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Go to the My Watch tab, scroll down to the Installed on Apple Watch section, and tap an app to toggle the Show App on Apple Watch setting if it was previously removed.
