Optimizing Battery Settings on Your Smartwatch
Learn how to access and configure battery management settings on your new smartwatch to maximize daily performance and total battery longevity.
- Navigate to the Battery menu. Press the Digital Crown to open your app grid. Select the Settings app, indicated by the gear icon. Scroll down and tap on Battery to view current usage statistics.
- Enable Low Power Mode. Within the Battery menu, toggle the switch for Low Power Mode to the On position. This reduces background heart rate measurements and notifications to preserve charge. Confirm your selection if prompted by the system.
- Inspect battery health. Tap the Battery Health option below the usage graph. This menu displays the maximum capacity of your battery relative to when it was new. Values below 80 percent may indicate the need for service.
- Modify display settings. Return to the main Settings menu and select Display & Brightness. Adjust the brightness slider to a lower level or toggle Always On to Off. A dim display significantly reduces power draw.
- Restrict background app refresh. Navigate to Settings, then General, and select Background App Refresh. Disable this feature for apps that do not require real-time updates. This prevents unnecessary radio usage and processing in the background.
