How to Fix AirDrop Issues on Apple Watch
Troubleshoot and resolve AirDrop connectivity issues on your Apple Watch. Follow these steps to restore file transfer functionality.
- Verify connectivity settings. Ensure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are active on your Apple Watch. Open Settings, tap Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and toggle them off then on to refresh the connection stack.
- Check AirDrop visibility. AirDrop functionality on the watch is mediated through the paired iPhone. Open Settings > General > AirDrop on your iPhone and ensure 'Everyone for 10 Minutes' is selected to rule out contact-only restrictions.
- Toggle Airplane Mode. Swipe up from the bottom of the watch face to access the Control Center. Tap the Airplane Mode icon, wait ten seconds, and tap it again to force a reset of all wireless radios.
- Force restart the Apple Watch. Press and hold both the Digital Crown and the Side Button simultaneously. Release both buttons only when the Apple logo appears on the display.
- Update watchOS software. Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update on your watch. If an update is pending, install it to ensure the latest communication protocols are active.
