How to Customize Sleep Settings on Apple Watch

Master your rest by customizing Apple Watch sleep schedules, wind down periods, and tracking metrics for optimized recovery.

  1. Open the Sleep settings. On your paired iPhone, launch the Health app. Navigate to the Browse tab at the bottom right, select Sleep, and scroll down to select Full Schedule & Options.
  2. Define your sleep schedule. Tap Edit under your sleep schedule to set your desired wake-up and bedtime. Select the days of the week you wish this schedule to apply and adjust the sleep goal duration to match your health targets.
  3. Set the Wind Down period. Within the same schedule menu, locate the Wind Down settings. Adjust the duration to initiate Do Not Disturb mode before your scheduled bedtime, minimizing distractions.
  4. Enable track sleep with Apple Watch. Scroll to the Options section in the Sleep menu. Toggle the switch for Track Sleep with Apple Watch to the On position to enable respiratory rate and blood oxygen monitoring during rest.
  5. Configure sleep focus appearance. Return to the main Sleep menu and tap Options. Enable Show Time to display the current time on your Apple Watch when in Sleep Focus, or disable it to keep the screen dark.
