How to Execute Home Scenes Using Siri
Learn how to trigger Apple Home scenes using voice commands with Siri to control multiple smart devices simultaneously.
- Create a new scene in the Home app. Open the Home app on your iPhone. Tap the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner, select Add Scene, and choose a suggested scene or select Custom. Name your scene according to the action you wish to perform, such as 'Movie Night' or 'Goodbye'.
- Add accessories to your scene. Tap Add Accessories and select every device you want included in the scene. Once selected, tap each accessory to set its specific state, such as brightness level for bulbs or temperature for thermostats. Tap Done to save your configuration.
- Test the scene manually. Navigate to the Home tab and locate your newly created scene tile. Tap the tile once to ensure all included devices respond as expected. If an accessory fails to change state, long-press the tile to edit the accessory settings within the scene.
- Invoke the scene via Siri. Activate Siri by saying 'Hey Siri' or by holding the side button on your device. Clearly state 'Run [Scene Name]' to trigger the sequence. Siri will provide a brief confirmation tone or verbal acknowledgment once the command is processed.
- Assign the scene to a specific room. Open the scene settings by long-pressing the tile in the Home app. Tap Edit Scene and assign the scene to a specific room to improve Siri's contextual awareness. This allows you to trigger the scene by simply saying the name if you are currently located in that room.
