How to Remove Users from Your Smart Home

Secure your smart home by removing unauthorized or inactive users. Follow these steps to manage access in Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa apps.

  1. Review current user permissions. Open your primary smart home application. Navigate to the Home Settings or Manage People section to view a complete list of invited users and shared account members.
  2. Remove users from Apple Home. Tap the Home icon, select Home Settings, and choose the user profile under the People list. Tap Remove Person at the bottom of the screen and confirm the action.
  3. Remove users from Google Home. Open the Google Home app, tap Settings, and select Household. Tap the member's profile icon, then tap the Remove icon in the top right corner to confirm.
  4. Remove users from Amazon Alexa. In the Alexa app, tap More, select Settings, and choose Your Family & Household. Tap the name of the user you wish to remove and select Remove from Household.
  5. Confirm removal across platforms. Return to the user management list within each application to ensure the removed profile is no longer visible. Refresh the page if the user still appears in the list.
