Automate Smart Lights to Turn On at Sunset

Configure your smart lights to trigger automatically at sunset using the Home app. Precise steps for iOS users to ensure lighting matches local conditions.

  1. Open the Automation tab. Launch the Home app on your iPhone. Tap the Automation tab located at the bottom of the screen to view your active triggers and create new tasks.
  2. Initialize a new automation. Tap the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner of the interface. Select Add Automation from the menu to begin the configuration wizard.
  3. Select the time trigger. Choose A Time of Day occurs from the trigger options. Select Sunset as the specific time setting to align the action with your geographic location.
  4. Choose target accessories. Select the specific lights or rooms you want to illuminate. Tap Next to confirm your selection and proceed to the action configuration.
  5. Set light state and duration. Adjust the brightness and color settings for your lights if necessary. Tap Done to finalize the automation sequence and save it to your Home Hub.
