How to Group Smart Lights by Room

Organize your smart home ecosystem by grouping lights into specific rooms for unified control, improved automation, and voice command efficiency.

1. Open the Home app. Launch the Home app from your iPhone or iPad. Ensure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your smart light bridge or hub.
2. Locate the smart light accessory. Navigate to the Home tab. Long-press on the tile representing the specific smart light you intend to move. This opens the accessory detail view.
3. Access accessory settings. Tap the Settings icon located in the bottom right corner of the accessory menu. This interface manages the specific configuration parameters for the individual light.
4. Assign the light to a room. Tap the Room field. Select an existing room from the provided list or tap Create New to name a room specifically. The accessory will immediately migrate to that room category.
5. Save the configuration. Tap Done in the upper right corner to exit the settings menu. Repeat this process for all remaining smart lights until each device is placed in its respective room.
