How to Create Your First Smart Home Scene

Learn to automate your connected home. Create your first smart scene to control multiple devices with a single tap or voice command in Apple Home.

1. Open the Home app. Launch the Home app from your iPhone or iPad. Navigate to the Home tab and tap the plus (+) icon located in the top-right corner of the screen.
2. Add a new scene. Select Add Scene from the dropdown menu. Choose a suggested scene like Arrive Home or Good Night, or select Custom to define your own parameters.
3. Add accessories to the scene. Tap Add Accessories to display all connected devices in your home. Select the lights, switches, or shades you wish to include in this specific scene and tap Done.
4. Set device states. Long-press each accessory icon to reveal precise controls. Adjust the brightness, color, or power state for each device to match the desired environment.
5. Save the scene. Tap Test This Scene to verify the behavior of all included devices. If the result is correct, tap Done in the top-right corner to save your new scene to your Home dashboard.
