How to Configure Guest Access for Smart Locks

Securely manage temporary home entry by configuring guest access codes and schedules for your smart lock. Follow these steps for reliable security.

  1. Open the access management menu. Launch your smart lock application on your mobile device. Navigate to the Settings tab, select Lock Settings, and locate the Users or Guest Access section.
  2. Add a new guest profile. Select the Add Guest or Invite button. Enter the guest's name and contact information if required by the app to associate the digital key with a specific person.
  3. Define the access duration. Choose the access type, such as Temporary, Recurring, or Always. If selecting Temporary, set specific start and end dates and times to restrict access automatically.
  4. Assign a PIN or digital key. Input a custom 4-to-8 digit PIN for the guest. Alternatively, select the option to send a digital invite link to the guest's smartphone to allow app-based unlocking.
  5. Send the access credentials. Select the Share or Send button to transmit the credentials to the guest. Choose your preferred communication method, such as SMS or encrypted email, to deliver the PIN or access link.
  6. Test the guest credentials. Verify the guest profile is active by checking the Activity Log within the app. If possible, perform a physical test at the lock using the assigned PIN code to confirm functionality.
