How to Configure Motion Zones for Your Video Doorbell
Configure custom motion detection zones for your video doorbell to eliminate false alerts and focus on specific areas of your property.
- Open the device settings menu. Launch your doorbell application on your smartphone. Locate the dashboard screen and tap the menu icon (typically three horizontal lines) or the gear icon situated on the tile corresponding to your doorbell device.
- Locate motion settings. Within the device control panel, tap on the Motion Settings tile. If your system requires it, select Motion Zones from the sub-menu to visualize the current detection field overlaying your camera's live view.
- Define the detection zone. Use your finger to drag the corner handles of the existing polygon or shape on the screen. Adjust the boundaries to exclude public sidewalks, high-traffic streets, or areas with moving vegetation that trigger frequent false positives.
- Set motion sensitivity. Locate the sensitivity slider on the screen. Drag it toward the left to reduce sensitivity for busier environments or toward the right if you are missing events occurring at the edge of your property.
- Save your configuration. Tap the Save or Done button in the upper right corner of the interface to push the new parameters to the doorbell hardware. Exit the menu to return to the main dashboard.
