How to Configure Smart Door Sensors for a Home Alarm System

Secure your home by installing and configuring wireless door sensors for your smart alarm ecosystem. Follow this guide for a seamless setup.

1. Power the sensor and enter pairing mode. Remove the battery pull-tab from the sensor to initiate power. Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds until the status LED flashes, indicating the device is ready to connect to your hub.
2. Add the device via the mobile application. Open your smart home app and navigate to the Devices tab. Tap the plus (+) icon, select Add Device, and choose Scan nearby to allow the app to detect the new sensor.
3. Position the sensor on the door frame. Align the primary sensor with the magnetic actuator on your door. Ensure the gap between the two pieces is no greater than 15mm when the door is closed to ensure reliable signal triggering.
4. Define alarm logic in the security dashboard. Access the Automation or Security section of your app. Create a new trigger: when the door sensor status changes to Open, perform the action Send notification to smartphone and activate siren.
5. Verify the trigger and notification system. Close the door and wait for the hub to acknowledge the closed state. Open the door physically to verify that the system triggers the defined automation and sends a push notification to your device.
