How to Configure Privacy Zones on a Smart Camera

Learn to mask sensitive areas in your smart camera's field of view to ensure privacy and prevent unnecessary motion alerts.

  1. Access camera settings. Open your smart home application and select the camera you wish to modify from the device dashboard. Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner to enter the camera settings menu.
  2. Locate privacy zone settings. Scroll through the settings menu to find the section labeled Zones or Privacy. Tap on Privacy Zones or Activity Zones depending on your device interface.
  3. Define the mask area. Tap the Add Zone or Create Privacy Zone button. A geometric shape will appear on the live feed overlay, which you can drag and resize using the anchor points on the screen.
  4. Adjust zone shape. Use your fingers to expand or contract the boundaries of the privacy mask. Ensure all sensitive areas are completely covered by the shaded region.
  5. Commit changes. Once the zone is positioned correctly, tap Save or Done in the top-right corner. The application will synchronize these changes with the camera hardware immediately.
