How to Create Room Groups for Lights and Speakers

Organize your smart home by grouping lights and speakers into rooms. Streamline control across your Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, or Google Home ecosystem.

1. Open the Home application. Launch the Home app from your device home screen. Navigate to the Home tab to ensure all your connected smart devices are visible and responding to the network.
2. Select the target accessory. Long-press the tile of the light or speaker you wish to assign to a room. Tap the Settings icon or select Accessory Details to open the configuration menu for that specific device.
3. Assign the device to a room. Locate the Room field within the settings menu. Select an existing room from the list or tap Create New to define a new zone for your hardware.
4. Verify the group assignment. Return to the main Home screen. Tap the Rooms tab at the top of the interface and verify that the devices appear under the correct room header.
5. Create a service group for accessories. To control multiple lights as one, tap the ellipsis icon in the top right corner and select Edit Home. Select Group Accessories, choose the devices you wish to combine, and name the group based on the room location.
