How to Resolve Delayed or Missing Smart Camera Motion Alerts
Fix unresponsive smart camera motion notifications. Follow these steps to calibrate sensitivity, network settings, and notification permissions.
- Verify global notification permissions. Navigate to Settings on your smartphone. Locate the specific camera application in the app list, tap Notifications, and ensure Allow Notifications is toggled to On with Banners and Sounds enabled.
- Calibrate motion sensitivity zones. Open the camera's companion application and access the device settings. Select Motion Zones or Sensitivity and increase the threshold or expand the detection area to ensure the sensor triggers on smaller movements.
- Disable power-saving modes. Battery-operated cameras often enter deep sleep to conserve energy, causing missed alerts. Connect the camera to a permanent power source or set the device profile to Performance Mode within the app settings.
- Confirm signal strength and bandwidth. Use the camera app's diagnostic tool to check the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) value. If the signal is weak, move the router closer to the camera or install a Wi-Fi range extender to prevent packet loss during motion events.
- Update firmware and clear cache. Check for available firmware updates in the device settings menu to resolve known communication bugs. If the issue persists, offload or clear the application cache on your smartphone to remove corrupted temporary data files.
