How to Fix Missing Google Home Routines

Restore missing Google Home routines by refreshing your account, updating the app, and verifying your Home configuration settings.

  1. Verify the correct Home structure. Open the Google Home app. Tap the Home selector icon at the top of the dashboard to ensure you are viewing the specific Home where your routines are stored. Multiple homes can lead to hidden routines if the primary residence is not selected.
  2. Force close and restart the application. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen and hold to access the App Switcher. Locate Google Home, then swipe it upward to force close the process. Re-launch the app to trigger a fresh data sync with Google servers.
  3. Check for application updates. Navigate to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Search for Google Home and select Update if a new version is available. Legacy versions of the application frequently lose sync with current server-side routine configurations.
  4. Confirm your primary account access. Tap your profile icon in the top right corner. Ensure the account signed into the app is the exact email address used to create the original routines. Routines are tied to specific user accounts and will not appear if you are signed in under a secondary or family member's account.
  5. Refresh the Routines menu. Select the Routines icon on the main app dashboard. Pull down on the center of the screen to initiate a manual refresh of your device list and automation library. If the routines still do not appear, toggle your Wi-Fi off and back on to force a network handshake.
