How to Customize Your Apple Home Dashboard

Learn to personalize your Apple Home dashboard. Organize scenes, reorder accessories, and pin essential devices for quick access in iOS 18.

  1. Enter Edit Mode. Open the Home app on your iPhone. Long-press on any empty area of the Home tab or tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner and select Edit Home Screen to begin customizing your dashboard layout.
  2. Reorder Accessories and Scenes. Drag and drop tiles to reposition them on your grid. Place your most-used lights, locks, or scenes at the top of the Home tab for immediate access upon opening the application.
  3. Adjust Tile Dimensions. Tap the resize handle located on the corner of supported accessory tiles. Select the preferred tile size to expand key information or collapse less important devices to save space.
  4. Create and Manage Rooms. Navigate to the Rooms tab to group accessories by location. Use the Room menu to assign specific devices to new or existing rooms, ensuring your dashboard remains uncluttered and logically structured.
  5. Save Your Changes. Tap Done in the top right corner to exit Edit mode and save your new dashboard configuration. Verify the layout by toggling a scene or accessory to ensure responsiveness.
