Clean up your macOS interface by disabling the recent applications section in the Dock. Follow these steps to customize your Mac desktop settings.
- Open System Settings. Click the Apple menu icon located in the top-left corner of your screen. Select System Settings from the drop-down menu to open the preference configuration panel.
- Access Dock & Menu Bar settings. Scroll down the left-hand sidebar in the System Settings window. Select the menu item labeled Desktop & Dock to reveal the specific customization options for your interface.
- Disable recent applications. Locate the section labeled Dock within the main panel. Find the toggle switch labeled Show recent applications in Dock.
- Toggle the switch off. Click the toggle switch to the Off position. The recent applications segment will disappear from your Dock immediately, leaving only your pinned items and the Trash.
