How to Configure Hot Corners on macOS

Maximize your Mac productivity with Hot Corners. Learn how to trigger system actions by moving your cursor to the corners of your display.

  1. Open System Settings. Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen. Select System Settings from the dropdown menu to open the configuration panel.
  2. Locate Desktop & Dock settings. In the left-hand sidebar of the System Settings window, scroll down until you reach the Desktop & Dock category. Click this option to display the desktop behavior settings.
  3. Open Hot Corners menu. Scroll to the bottom of the right-hand panel. Locate the button labeled Hot Corners and click it to open the customization modal.
  4. Assign corner actions. You will see four dropdown menus representing the corners of your display. Click a dropdown menu to select a desired action, such as Mission Control, Desktop, or Quick Note.
  5. Save your preferences. Once you have mapped your preferred actions, click Done. The changes take effect immediately without requiring a system restart.
