Secure your device by enabling Find My Mac. Follow these steps to activate location tracking and remote management features for your Apple computer.

  1. Open System Settings. Click the Apple menu icon in the top-left corner of your screen. Select System Settings from the dropdown menu to open the control panel.
  2. Access Apple ID account. Click your name at the very top of the sidebar. This opens your Apple Account settings where all iCloud-related services are managed.
  3. Select the iCloud menu. Locate and click on the iCloud tab in the main pane. This displays a list of apps and features currently syncing with your Apple ID.
  4. Open Find My settings. Click the 'Find My' icon from the list of iCloud apps. If you do not see it immediately, click the 'Show All' button to expand the menu.
  5. Toggle Find My Mac. Click the 'Turn On' button or the toggle switch next to 'Find My Mac'. Enter your Mac user password or provide Touch ID authentication when prompted to confirm the change.
  6. Confirm Find My Network. Ensure the 'Find My network' option is toggled to 'On'. This allows your Mac to be located even when offline by using signals from other nearby Apple devices.
