Mastering Spotlight Search on iPhone

Maximize productivity on your iPhone by mastering Spotlight search. Learn how to locate apps, contacts, files, and web results instantly.

1. Access the Spotlight interface. From any Home Screen page, swipe down from the middle of the screen. Alternatively, tap the Search button located directly above the Dock at the bottom of your screen.
2. Perform a targeted search. Type your query into the search field. Spotlight will dynamically populate results including apps, contacts, emails, and files stored within your device.
3. Execute complex system commands. You can trigger system settings directly from the search bar. Type commands such as 'Turn on Wi-Fi' or 'Low Power Mode' to toggle settings without navigating through the Settings app.
4. Customize search results. Navigate to Settings > Siri & Search. Scroll through the list of apps to toggle 'Show App in Search' or 'Show Content in Search' to prioritize or hide specific data sources.
5. Use Spotlight for calculations and conversions. Enter any mathematical equation or currency conversion directly into the search field. Spotlight provides an immediate answer without opening the Calculator app.
