Secure your privacy by managing shared data and access permissions quickly using Safety Check on iPhone.
- Open the Safety Check menu. Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down and tap Privacy & Security, then select Safety Check from the menu list.
- Perform an Emergency Reset. Select Emergency Reset if you need to immediately stop sharing information with all people and apps. This action removes access for everyone and resets privacy permissions for all installed applications.
- Review Sharing & Access. Select Manage Sharing & Access if you want to selectively audit your data. The tool will display a list of people and apps currently receiving your location or data.
- Revoke access to people. Review the people currently accessing your shared information. Select a person to view what they can see, then tap Remove All Sharing to instantly disconnect them from your data.
- Adjust app permissions. After clearing people, the tool will prompt you to review app permissions. Select specific apps to remove their access to your location, photos, contacts, and calendar data.
- Update account security. Finish the process by reviewing your trusted devices and Apple ID password settings. Ensure that no unknown devices are signed into your account and update your password if unauthorized access is suspected.
