Transfer Data to a New iPhone Using Quick Start
Learn how to use Quick Start to wirelessly transfer your apps, data, and settings from your current iPhone to a new one running iOS 18.4.
- Prepare your current device. Ensure your current iPhone is connected to a power source and that Bluetooth is active. Keep the device unlocked and place it in close proximity to the new iPhone.
- Power on the new iPhone. Turn on your new iPhone and place it near your current device. A Quick Start screen will appear on your current iPhone offering the option to set up your new device with your Apple ID.
- Verify and pair the devices. Confirm that the Apple ID displayed is correct and tap Continue. An animation will appear on the new iPhone; scan this animation using the camera on your current iPhone to initiate the pairing process.
- Enter security credentials. When prompted, enter the current passcode from your existing iPhone onto the new device. Follow the remaining on-screen instructions to set up Face ID or Touch ID on the new hardware.
- Initiate the data transfer. Select Transfer from iPhone to begin moving your data directly between devices. Keep both devices close and connected to power until the progress bar completes.
- Complete the setup. Once the transfer is complete, follow the final on-screen prompts for location settings, Siri, and Apple Pay. The new iPhone will restart and sync your installed applications from the App Store.
