How to Configure and Use Back Tap on iPhone
Master Back Tap on your iPhone. Learn how to trigger shortcuts, accessibility features, or system actions with a simple double or triple tap on the back.
- Open the Accessibility settings. Launch the Settings app from your Home Screen. Scroll down and tap Accessibility, then select Touch.
- Access the Back Tap menu. Scroll to the bottom of the Touch menu. Tap Back Tap to view the configuration options.
- Assign an action to Double Tap. Tap Double Tap to see the list of available system actions, accessibility features, and Shortcuts. Select your desired action to bind it to a double tap gesture.
- Assign an action to Triple Tap. Navigate back to the main Back Tap screen and tap Triple Tap. Choose a separate action that differs from your Double Tap choice to maximize functionality.
- Verify the gesture sensitivity. Return to your Home Screen. Use your finger to firmly tap the back of your iPhone twice or three times depending on your settings to trigger the assigned action.
