How to Record Your iPhone Screen With Microphone Audio

Learn how to capture your iPhone screen and external microphone audio simultaneously using the built-in Screen Recording feature in iOS.

  1. Add Screen Recording to Control Center. Open the Settings app and navigate to Control Center. Scroll down to the More Controls section and tap the green plus (+) icon next to Screen Recording to add it to your active controls.
  2. Open Control Center. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open the Control Center. Locate the Screen Recording button, which appears as a solid circle inside a ring.
  3. Enable Microphone Audio. Long-press the Screen Recording icon until the menu expands. Tap the Microphone icon at the bottom of the menu to toggle it to On; the icon will turn red and show Microphone On.
  4. Start Recording. Tap the Start Recording button within the menu. A three-second countdown will begin before the recording starts automatically.
  5. Stop and Save the Recording. To end your session, tap the red status indicator at the top of your screen or open the Control Center and tap the flashing Screen Recording button. Select Stop in the confirmation prompt to save the file.
