How to Protect Mail Privacy on iPhone

Secure your email privacy on iPhone by disabling remote content loading and enabling Mail Privacy Protection to hide your IP address.

  1. Enable Mail Privacy Protection. Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down and select Mail, then tap Privacy Protection to access the feature settings.
  2. Activate Protect Mail Activity. Toggle the switch for Protect Mail Activity to the ON position. This action hides your IP address and loads remote content privately in the background, preventing senders from linking your activity to other online behaviors.
  3. Disable Block All Remote Content. Return to the Mail settings menu. Tap Privacy Protection and ensure Block All Remote Content is set to OFF if you prefer an automated privacy layer over manual loading.
  4. Check individual account privacy settings. Navigate to Settings > Mail > Accounts. Select each email account individually to confirm that no conflicting third-party security profiles are interfering with Mail's default privacy settings.
  5. Disable Load Remote Images. If you require maximum security, go to Settings > Mail and toggle Load Remote Images to OFF. This stops images from loading until you explicitly tap Load All Images in an individual email message.
