How to Move the iPhone Cursor Precisely
Master precise text navigation on iPhone using the trackpad feature hidden within your keyboard.
- Open the keyboard. Tap any text field where you wish to edit content to trigger the on-screen keyboard. Ensure the cursor is active within the text area.
- Enter trackpad mode. Press and hold your finger firmly on the Space bar. The keys on the keyboard will go blank, indicating that trackpad mode is engaged.
- Slide to position the cursor. Without lifting your finger, slide it across the surface of the keyboard area. The cursor will move correspondingly within your text field.
- Select text precisely. While in trackpad mode, tap the keyboard area with a second finger while maintaining the first finger's position. This initiates selection mode, allowing you to drag and highlight specific words or sentences.
- Release to exit. Lift your finger from the screen to exit trackpad mode. The standard keyboard layout will reappear instantly, allowing you to type or use the editing toolbar.
