How to Remotely Lock a Lost iPhone

Secure your lost iPhone immediately by enabling Lost Mode remotely. Follow these steps to lock your device, display a contact message, and protect your data.

  1. Sign in to iCloud Find. Navigate to icloud.com/find on any web browser. Enter your Apple ID and password to access the device location services associated with your account.
  2. Select your lost device. Click the All Devices dropdown menu located at the top of the map interface. Select the specific iPhone you wish to lock from the provided list.
  3. Enable Lost Mode. Select the Lock icon or the Lost Mode option from the device information card. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm you intend to lock the device.
  4. Enter contact details. Enter a phone number where you can be reached and a custom message to display on the iPhone lock screen. Select Next to finalize the activation of the remote lock.
  5. Confirm the lock status. Check the status within the Find My interface to ensure the device is listed as Pending or Locked. Once the device reconnects to the internet, the lock will engage immediately.
