How to Find a Lost iPhone Using Find My

Use the Find My network to locate, lock, or erase your missing iPhone. Follow these steps to track your device from another Apple product.

  1. Access the Find My application. Open the Find My application on an iPad, Mac, or another iPhone signed into your Apple ID. If you do not have access to an Apple device, navigate to iCloud.com/find in a web browser and sign in using your credentials.
  2. Select your device from the list. Tap or click the Devices tab at the bottom of the interface. Locate your missing iPhone in the list and select it to view its current or last known geographic position on the map.
  3. Trigger a sound on the device. If the device is nearby, select Play Sound from the device menu. The iPhone will emit an alert tone at full volume even if it is set to silent or Do Not Disturb.
  4. Enable Mark As Lost. Select Mark As Lost under the Actions menu and tap Activate. This action locks your iPhone with a passcode, disables Apple Pay, and displays a custom message with your phone number on the lock screen.
  5. Erase your device data. If you determine the device is permanently lost or stolen, select Erase This Device. This action permanently deletes all content and settings, rendering the device inaccessible to unauthorized users via Activation Lock.
