How to Remotely Erase a Lost iPhone

Secure your data by remotely erasing your lost iPhone using Find My on iCloud.com. Follow these steps to ensure your personal information remains private.

  1. Sign in to iCloud. Navigate to iCloud.com/find from any web browser on a computer or secondary mobile device. Enter your Apple ID and password to access the device management interface.
  2. Select your lost device. Click on the All Devices menu located at the top of the browser window. Locate and select the specific iPhone you wish to erase from the provided list.
  3. Initiate the Erase command. Once the device information panel opens, click the Erase iPhone button. A confirmation prompt will appear to verify your decision to wipe the device.
  4. Confirm the erase request. Review the on-screen warning regarding permanent data loss. Click Continue to confirm the request and enter your Apple ID password one additional time to authorize the remote wipe.
  5. Monitor device status. The device will display a pending erase status within the iCloud interface. Once the iPhone connects to a cellular or Wi-Fi network, the wipe will execute immediately.
