How to Edit Videos Directly on iPhone
Master the native Photos app tools to trim, color grade, and crop your iPhone videos before sharing them with others.
- Enter the editing interface. Open the Photos app and select the video you intend to edit. Tap the Edit button located in the top-right corner of the screen to reveal the timeline and adjustment sliders.
- Trim the video duration. Drag the yellow handles at either end of the timeline below the video preview. The portion inside the yellow box represents the exported clip; everything outside will be removed.
- Modify color and exposure. Select the dial icon in the bottom menu to access exposure, contrast, and saturation tools. Tap an adjustment icon, then move the slider to refine the visual quality of the frame.
- Crop and rotate the frame. Tap the crop-and-rotate icon at the bottom of the screen. Use the aspect ratio button at the top to switch between Freeform, Square, or 9:16 portrait modes.
- Save the changes. Tap Done in the top-right corner to save your edits to the original file. If you decide to revert the changes later, select the video, tap Edit, and choose Revert to original.
