Managing iPhone Access While Locked

Secure your iPhone data by restricting access to features and widgets from the Lock Screen. Control what others can see when your device is locked.

  1. Access Face ID & Passcode settings. Open the Settings app from your Home Screen. Scroll down and tap Face ID & Passcode, then enter your device passcode to authenticate.
  2. Disable Lock Screen access features. Scroll to the section labeled Allow Access When Locked. Toggle off the switches for features you wish to restrict, such as Notification Center, Control Center, Widgets, or Reply with Message.
  3. Adjust Siri access when locked. Return to the main Settings menu and select Siri & Search. Locate the Siri section and toggle off Allow Siri When Locked.
  4. Set notification privacy. Navigate to Settings > Notifications > Show Previews. Select When Unlocked to ensure notification details are hidden until you authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID.
  5. Configure USB accessory restrictions. Return to Settings > Face ID & Passcode. Under the Allow Access When Locked section, ensure the USB Accessories toggle is set to off to prevent data connection via the Lightning or USB-C port while locked.
