How to change your Apple ID password on iPhone

Secure your account by updating your Apple ID password directly from your iPhone settings. Follow these precise steps for immediate security.

  1. Open your Apple Account settings. Launch the Settings app from your Home Screen. Tap your name at the very top of the menu to enter the Apple Account management interface.
  2. Select Sign-In & Security. Within your account profile, locate and tap the Sign-In & Security option. This section controls your password, two-factor authentication, and account recovery methods.
  3. Initiate the password change. Tap the Change Password row located near the top of the menu. If prompted, enter your current iPhone passcode to authorize the change.
  4. Create a new password. Enter your new password in the New field, then re-enter it in the Verify field to ensure accuracy. Tap Change at the top right of the screen once the passwords match.
  5. Sign out of other devices. Once confirmed, the system will offer an option to Sign Out of Other Devices. Select this option if you suspect unauthorized access to your account to force a remote logout across your ecosystem.
