How to Block Unknown AirDrop Requests on iPhone

Stop unsolicited files and images by restricting AirDrop visibility to trusted contacts only. Secure your iPhone privacy in seconds.

  1. Open Settings. Locate and tap the Settings app icon on your Home Screen. It is represented by a dual-gear graphic.
  2. Access General settings. Scroll down and tap General within the primary settings menu. This section houses core system preferences and wireless communication settings.
  3. Open AirDrop menu. Locate the AirDrop option near the top of the General menu. Tap it to reveal the current discovery settings.
  4. Enable Contacts Only. Select Contacts Only from the list. This restricts incoming AirDrop requests to individuals saved in your Contacts application, automatically blocking unknown senders.
  5. Confirm setting. Ensure the blue checkmark appears next to Contacts Only. Your iPhone is now configured to ignore AirDrop requests from unidentified devices.
