How to Configure Safari Privacy Settings on iPhone

Secure your browsing experience on iPhone by optimizing Safari privacy settings, including Intelligent Tracking Prevention and content blocking.

  1. Enable Intelligent Tracking Prevention. Open the Settings app and scroll down to select Safari. Ensure the toggle for Prevent Cross-Site Tracking is set to ON to block trackers from following your activity across different websites.
  2. Require Face ID for Private Browsing. Within the Safari settings menu, locate the Privacy & Security section. Toggle ON Require Face ID to Unlock Private Browsing to ensure your open private tabs are encrypted and inaccessible without biometric authentication.
  3. Hide IP Address from trackers. Under the same Privacy & Security section, tap Hide IP Address. Select Trackers Only to allow websites to see your location for local content while blocking trackers from identifying your IP, or select Trackers and Websites for maximum privacy.
  4. Clear history and website data. In the Safari settings menu, tap Clear History and Website Data. Select All History and ensure the Close All Tabs toggle is enabled if you wish to perform a complete wipe of your browsing session data.
  5. Configure Advanced Privacy settings. Scroll to the bottom of the Safari settings menu and tap Advanced. Select Advanced Tracking and Fingerprinting Protection and set it to All Browsing to apply the highest level of privacy to every page you visit.
