How to Transfer an eSIM to a New iPhone
Learn how to move your eSIM to a new iPhone using Quick Transfer or carrier-specific activation steps. Ensure seamless cellular connectivity.
- Verify device compatibility and OS status. Ensure your old iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Place both devices side by side with Bluetooth turned on to facilitate the migration process.
- Start the Quick Start setup flow. Turn on your new iPhone and place it near your current device. Follow the on-screen prompts to begin the Quick Start process, which will automatically detect your old phone.
- Select the cellular plan to transfer. When prompted during the setup of the new iPhone, select the cellular plan you wish to move. Tap 'Continue' to confirm the request to transfer the eSIM from the source device.
- Confirm the activation on the target device. A prompt will appear on your old iPhone asking you to confirm the transfer. Tap 'Transfer' to finalize the authorization. Your cellular plan will deactivate on the old device and activate on the new one.
- Finish the cellular setup. Wait for the 'Cellular Setup Complete' message on your new iPhone. Once confirmed, your device will register with the carrier network, indicated by the signal strength icon in the status bar.
