How to Configure Find My During iPhone Setup

Enable Find My iPhone during the initial device setup process to ensure location tracking and Activation Lock are active from the first power-on.

  1. Power on and follow the Setup Assistant. Press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears. Select your language and region, then connect your iPhone to a stable Wi-Fi network to proceed with the activation sequence.
  2. Sign in with your Apple Account. When prompted, enter your Apple Account email and password. If you do not have an account, select 'Forgot password or don't have an Apple ID?' to create a new one, as Find My requires an authenticated account to function.
  3. Enable Find My in Data & Privacy. As you navigate through the 'Data & Privacy' screens, the Setup Assistant will display the Find My configuration page. Tap 'Continue' to enable the service; this automatically turns on Location Services specifically for this feature.
  4. Confirm Find My Network participation. The setup screen will ask if you wish to join the Find My network. Select 'Continue' to allow the iPhone to be located even when offline or powered off by utilizing encrypted Bluetooth signals from nearby Apple devices.
  5. Validate settings in System Settings. Once the Home Screen is active, open Settings and tap your name at the top. Select 'Find My' and verify that 'Find My iPhone' is toggled to 'On' to confirm the configuration was successfully applied during setup.
