How to Restore iCloud Keychain Passwords on iPhone
Learn how to restore and sync your iCloud Keychain passwords on iPhone. Follow these steps to recover your credentials and restore secure access.
- Verify iCloud Keychain status. Open the Settings app and tap your Apple ID banner at the top. Select iCloud, then tap Passwords and Keychain. Ensure the toggle for Sync this iPhone is set to ON.
- Force a cloud sync. Navigate to Settings > Passwords. If passwords appear to be missing, pull down from the top of the screen to initiate a manual refresh. Remain on the screen until the spinning icon disappears.
- Approve via another device. If prompted, navigate to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Passwords and Keychain. Tap Approve with Security Code or use a trusted device to authorize your iPhone. Check your secondary Apple device for an approval prompt and tap Allow to authorize the restoration.
- Reset iCloud Keychain encryption. If passwords remain missing, go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Passwords and Keychain > Advanced. Select Reset Keychain. This clears the local corrupt database and forces a fresh pull from the encrypted iCloud storage.
- Confirm password restoration. Return to the Passwords menu in Settings. Verify that your saved logins are present. Tap any entry to ensure the stored credentials appear correctly.
