How to restore Apple Pay cards on a new iPhone

Follow these steps to quickly restore your credit and debit cards to Apple Wallet when setting up a new iPhone or restoring from an iCloud backup.

  1. Open the Wallet app. Launch the Wallet app from your Home Screen. If you restored your iPhone from an iCloud backup, your cards may appear automatically in a pending state.
  2. Select the Add button. Tap the plus (+) icon located in the top-right corner of the screen. Select Debit or Credit Card from the list of options to begin the restoration process for previous cards.
  3. Choose your previous cards. Select the cards you wish to restore from the Previous Cards list. Tap Continue to initiate the connection with your issuing bank.
  4. Authenticate with your bank. Review the terms and conditions presented by your bank. You may be prompted to receive a verification code via SMS, email, or your bank's mobile application to complete the authentication.
  5. Confirm card activation. Once the bank verifies your identity, your card will be active in Wallet. Tap Done to finalize the process and repeat for additional cards if necessary.
