How to Screen Record on iPad with Audio

Capture your iPad screen and external or system audio using the native Screen Recording tool. Follow these precise steps to record high-quality video.

  1. Add Screen Recording to Control Center. Open the Settings app on your iPad. Navigate to Control Center, scroll down to the More Controls list, and tap the green plus icon next to Screen Recording. This ensures the record button is immediately accessible from any screen.
  2. Open Control Center. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your iPad screen to reveal the Control Center. Locate the grey concentric circle icon representing Screen Recording.
  3. Enable Microphone Audio. Long-press the Screen Recording button until a pop-up menu appears. Tap the Microphone icon so that it turns red and displays 'Microphone On'. If left off, the iPad will only capture system audio and visual data.
  4. Start the Recording. Tap the 'Start Recording' button within the pop-up menu. A three-second countdown will begin on the status bar. Once the status bar icon turns red, your session is active.
  5. Stop and Save the Recording. Tap the red status bar icon at the top of your screen or open Control Center and tap the red blinking record button. Confirm by tapping Stop. Your video file is saved immediately to the Photos app under the Recents album.
