How to Set Up Account Recovery on iPad
Secure your Apple ID data by setting up Account Recovery on your iPad. Follow these steps to ensure you can regain access to your account if locked out.
- Access your Apple ID settings. Open the Settings app on your iPad. Tap your name at the top of the sidebar to access your Apple ID profile settings.
- Open Login & Security options. Within your Apple ID profile, tap on the Login & Security menu. This section manages all recovery and authentication methods for your account.
- Select Account Recovery. Locate and tap the Account Recovery option. If prompted, enter your iPad device passcode to proceed.
- Add a recovery contact. Tap Add Recovery Contact to designate a trusted person who can help you regain access to your account. Choose a contact from your list and follow the prompts to send them an invitation.
- Set up a recovery key. Return to the Account Recovery screen and toggle on Recovery Key. Tap Use Recovery Key and follow the instructions to generate and verify a 28-character code.
